Fifteen community schemes, including three boxing clubs, are to be given £91,000 in profits seized from criminals in the radio communications (Www.amazon.co.uk) West Midlands.
Boxing two way radios – www.bbc.co.uk – clubs in Tyburn and Small Heath in Birmingham will each receive £6,500 confiscated by police under proceeds of crime laws.
The Box Clever scheme run by former boxer, Wayne Elcock, will get £5,000.
He said: “The project was created to stop anti-social behaviour, to get kids to engage with sport instead.”
The former British middleweight champion said the scheme, based in Chelmsley Wood, had helped young people in Birmingham, Walsall and West Bromwich.
He said the cash would allow them to extend the project to Wolverhampton.
“There are areas of the city that have a lot of problems, we want to take youngsters out of trouble and into the discipline of the ring,” he said.
Other schemes to receive cash include upgrading the digital radio link between shops in Dudley town centre, which will cost £13,000.
A course for youngsters focusing on reducing gang involvement was given about £3,000, police said.
